LES ARCS

Perfectly positioned in the heart of Paradiski and within easy reach of Geneva, Chambery, Grenoble and Lyon airports as well as the snow train at Bourg Saint Maurice, Peisey is still an authentic farming village, historically built up around silver and lead mining. Since the opening of Lonzange lift in 1948 heralding its expansion from a primarily farming village into a winter tourism destination, Peisey has maintained its character and community feel whilst offering some of the best and most convenient skiing in the Alps.

Children are just as well catered for as adults and Peisey village and the Paradiski resort is a place for the whole family – both skiers and non-skiers alike.

With great skiing, lively Apres, a welcoming atmosphere and unparalleled convenience and beauty, let us welcome you to Arc Chalet and show you all Paradiski has to offer within a stylish and relaxing environment.

THE SKIING AND BOARDING

Paradiski is one of the largest, most snow sure and best linked ski resorts in the world, in the heart of the Tarentaise valley!

Peisey is one of the prettiest, most varied and best linked resorts of the 5 stations making up the Paradiski ski area, situated next to the Vanoise express. The snow record speaks for itself and with over 70% of skiing above 2000m, snow making in the treelined runs and the cold air flow from the Mont Blanc range delivering high levels of snowfall throughout the winter season, Paradiksi’s reputation as snow sure is well deserved.

“Despite having a huge riding area, Les Arcs has managed to retain a cosy feel as it is very easy to get from one area to another…On the mountain, Les Arcs has it all, from mellow beginner slopes to some of the most challenging runs anywhere in France” (world snowboard guide 2019)

Beginners: Arc Chalet is in a great location providing direct access to a wide range of blue beginner slopes from the top of the Lonzange lift. Anyone can take the Lonzange lift which is free, including pedestrians, and beginners can therefore reach their first lesson without any stress of getting on a chairlift straightaway. The ski school meeting point is at the top of the Lonzange televillage, where there is also the snow village and garden for little ones to make their first tracks and engage in snow play, learning to ski in a fun, safe and enjoyable environment.

Intermediates / Experts: Whether you want unlimited mileage, accessible off piste or to ski to a different resort for lunch every single day of your holiday, Paradiski has it all. From the Lonzange lift, you go right to La Plagne via the Vanoise Express or left to Les Arcs centre (Arc 1800) via the Peisey 73. To be so central within the Paradiski whilst benefitting from all the amenities of Peisey, a real French town, makes the Arc Chalet location an unbeatable spot.

We recommend the Paradiski Essential pass for those wishing to ski both Les Arcs and La Plagne. For those who really want to push it, try the Montalbert Villaroger challenge skiing the furthest points of Paradiski domaine in one day!

However, there is plenty to ski on the Peisey Les Arcs side for all but the most mile hungry skiers with 200km of some of the most varied and extensive skiing you will find anywhere. It is an intermediate’s paradise with long cruisy reds and blues.

Once a week, it is possible to ski first tracks with the pisteurs at sunrise as they open the ski resort for the day – this is a magical experience.

Off Piste: There are a wealth of good off piste opportunities in the area, including skiing the North Face of the Bellecote glacier leading to the Vanoise national park – also in Peisey Nancroix! This is the most famous off piste expedition but there are some excellent guides who can keep those powder hounds busy all week.

Freestyle: You will not find a better place than Les Arcs’ ‘Apocalypse Park to capture those GoPro moments. The park contains a fantastic range of kickers and rails for beginners to experts and is run by a dedicated team to maintain excellent conditions. The team also operate the chill out area with music, picnic, barbeques and views of the big air bag which is a great way to while away the afternoon whether you are a spectator or participant!

In addition, Les Arcs has the ‘water gilde’ where you can ski across a 15 metre pool, surrounded by spectators ready to pelt you with snowballs if you don’t make it. If you are not brace enough to attempt the ski, it is a great place to while away the afternoon at the bar watching others attempt it – just don’t throw snowballs…!

The enviable position of Peisey and excellent snow record is only enhanced by the sheer level of investment into the area with Paradiski having one of the fastest and most advanced lift system networks in the French Alps.
